This thick and rich Pakistani recipe is a sweetheart of denizens of Lahore and there are hundreds of eateries in Lahore alone that serve it sizzling hot. This recipe is originally from the Saudi Arabian desert which is based on coarsely ground wheat which is cooked overnight and then simmered in water along with meat and butter. In some cases, fat from the tail of a sheep is also used. Hareesa is also said to be the forerunner of Haleem which was also thought to be enjoyed by the Prophet Muhammad himself. It is also documented in a book that is as old as the tenth century. The book in which harees is documented is known as Kitab al Tabikh by the writer Ibn Sayyar Al Warraq. It is served hot and traditional garnishes for Hareesa are cardamom, sugar, and clarified butter. Ingredients

- 200g Dal Moong

- 200g Dal Masoor

- 200g Dal Mash

- 200g Dal Chana

- As needed Water

- 1 tbsp Ginger Paste

- 100g Wheat Porridge

- 100g Rice

- 3 tbsp Cooking Oil

- 3 Onion

- 6 Green Chili

- 3 Black Cardamom

- 3 Cinnamon

- 500g Boiled Beef

- As per taste Salt

- 1 tbsp Red Chili Powder

- 1 cup Beef Stock

- For garnishing Green Chili, Ginger, Brown Onion

Cooking Method:

1- In a bowl, add dal mash, dal moong, dal chana, dal masoor, wheat porridge, rice and soak for 2 hours.

2- After that, boil and grind it well.

3- Now, in a pan, add cooking oil, onion (slice cutting) and fry until light brown.

4- Now, add green chili, black cardamom, cinnamon, ginger paste, boiled beef, salt, red chili powder and cook for 5 minutes.

5- Now, add grinded paste, boiled meat, broth and cook until thickened.

6- Use, green chili, ginger, fried onion as a garnishing.

Your tasty Hareesa now ready to serve.

اجزاء دال مونگ دوسو گرام دال مسور دوسو گرام دال ماش دوسو گرام دال چنا دوسو گرام پانی حسبِ ضرورت دلیہ ایک سو گرام چاول ایک سو گرام کھانے کا تیل تین کھانے کے چمچ پیاز تین عدد سبز مرچ چھ عدد بڑی اِلائچی تین عدد دار چینی تین عدد اُبلا ہو ا گوشت پانچ سو گرام نمک حسبِ ذائقہ لال مرچ پاؤڈر ایک کھانے کا چمچ یخنی ایک کپ ادرک پیسٹ ایک کھانے کا چمچ سبز مرچ ،ادرک ،براؤن پیاز (گارنش ) ترکیب ۔ایک برتن تمام دالیں، دلیہ اور چاول ڈال کر دو گھنٹے کے لیے بھِگوکر رکھ دیں ۔ ۔اب ایک پین میں کھانے کا تیل لیں اور اس میں پیاز سلائس کٹنگ ڈال کر لائٹ براؤن کر لیں ۔ ۔اب اس میں سبز مرچ ،بڑی اِلائچی ،دارچینی،ادرک پیسٹ ،گلا ہوا گوشت،نمک اور لال مرچ پاؤڈرڈال کرپانچ منٹ کے لیے بھونائی کر لیں ۔ ۔اب ایک پین میں بھِگوئی ہوئی تمام دالیں ،دلیہ اور چاول ڈال کر اچھی طرح گلالیں اور گرائیند کر لیں ۔ ۔اب گرائینڈ کی ہوئی دالوں کو بھُنے ہوئے گوشت میں ملالیں اوراس میں یخنی ڈال کر گاڑھا ہونے تک پکالیں ۔ ۔اب اس پر سبز مرچ ،ادرک اور براؤن پیاز کی گارنش کر لیں ۔ آپکا مزیدار ہریسہ تیار ہے ۔ پکا نے کا وقت: چالیس منٹ افراد: تین عدد
