Biryani is a classic dish of South Asian cuisine, The name Biryani is originated from the Persian word 'bery?(n)' which means fried or roasted. “Birian” means ‘fried before cooking’. Vegetable Biryani is made with a blend of spices, Basmati rice and vegetables. Alternatively, it can be made with choices of meat: lamb, chicken or fish in a rich sauce named as chicken biryani, BombayBiryani and seasoned in a number of ways. Ingredients For Vegetable Biryani Recipe
- Rice 500g
- Potato (Boiled) 2 pieces
- Carrot (Boiled) 2 pieces
- Peas (Boiled) ½ cup
- Cooking Oil 3 tbsp
- Onion half onion
- Cumin 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder 1tbsp
- Red chili powder 1tbsp
- Cumin Powder 1 tbsp
- Yellow color 1 pinch
- Ginger & Garlic Paste 1 tbsp
- Green chili 2 pieces
- Tomato 200 g
- Salt as per taste
- Turmeric ½ tsp
- Hot water ½ cup
- Hot spices powder as needed
- Whole hot spices as needed
Method Vegetable Biryani
In a pot, add cooking oil, onion, cumin, green chili and fry until light brown.
Now add ginger & garlic paste, tomato, turmeric, red chili crushed, red chili powder, coriander, cumin powder, hot water and cook for 5-7 minutes.
Now add boiled potato, peas, carrot and add garnish (ginger, green chili, tomato, lemon, mint, coriander) also add whole hot spices. Now cook for 3-5 minutes. Vegetables are ready.
1- Now spread a little vegetable gravy in a large pot.
2- Spread a layer of boiled rice over it.
3- Now sprinkle the Hot spice powder and garnish (ginger, green chili, tomato, lemon, mint, coriander).
4- Now spread a little vegetable gravy on it.
5- Finish with last layer of boiled rice over it and also sprinkle the Hot spice powder and garnish (ginger, green chili, tomato, lemon, mint, coriander) on it.
6- Now sprinkle the yellow color mixed with one tsp water.
7- Steam the Biryani over very low heat for 10-12ss minutes.
8- Your tasty Vegitable Biryani is ready to serve.
