At night time, what we think about is to sleep in a calm and peaceful manner and restore our energy in a better way for the next day to be positive and great. But, sometimes we find out some weird and unlikely encounters that happen to us while we sleep.

Sleep paralysis

It seems that the person is awake at night and is unable to move and feels that there is someone scary in the room. It happens as we are asleep, we are paralyzed. Our muscles are turned off while the brain is awake. Almost 7 percent of the world population has that terrible experience of sleep paralysis. It is likely to happen while sleeping on the back.

Sleep talking

Sleep talking is known as somniloquy (a term for sleep talking) and the person who suffers from it has got no idea about it. This condition is almost common and there is nothing to be scared off from this problem. Mostly men and kids suffer from sleep talking and the reason is stress. The person is usually stressed out.

Dream within a dream

In this type of situation, the person actually sees a dream within a dream, then he/she finally wakes up, but, that is not the end of it. These weird phenomena continue to happen. It turns out that he or she was just dreaming when he/she woke up. It is similar, likewise in the movie inception, if you have seen that one. Upon this film’s success, various people reported having experienced this situation. Science still is unable to solve this mystery behind this illusion.

Sleepwalking

This state is totally opposite of sleep paralysis – the consciousness is dead asleep in it, but muscle paralysis doesn’t tend to happen. People can walk, clean or even leave their house, that turns out to be harmful to them. When they are awake in the morning, they don’t even remember about their sleepwalking last night. Sleepwalking known as somnambulism happens in approx. 4 – 10.5 percent of the total population of the earth, while children are affected by sleepwalking the most. The cause of this happening still remains unknown.

Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a hickup or the sudden stop of breath in a dream. The person gets awake as a result. The brain experience lack of oxygen and it becomes very difficult to have a proper sleep. Arterial pressure also changes or fluctuates during this type of attack, and it may lead to a serious heart problem. It happens due to the relaxation of pharynx muscles, leading to the block of airways via the lungs. Smoking, obesity and old age increase the chances of sleep apnea.

Falling onto the bed

Sometimes in our sleep, we develop a feeling that we have been thrown onto our bed from a higher place or a rooftop or even from a cliff. We wake up instantly and flinch. It happens as we dream that we are actually flying or stumbling from the highest place. Sleep is similar to death as the heartbeat and breathing system slows down. Even our muscles tone is minimized. Our brain eventually gets scared that we feel like a real death is going to happen and the person wakes up and check him/herself that is he really alive or dead! The mystery still remains unresolved up till now.

Out-of-body experience

It is basically a neuropsychological phenomenon in which a person is rather half asleep or half awake and sees him/her self from a place outside his/her body. It confirms the existence of the soul. Scientists are still confused to solve this mystery that why and how it works. So, is the medication to deal with it remains doubtful.
